Privacy policy

In short

  • No account, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking.
  • Your progress and your settings stay on your phone.
  • Steps and distance, if you allow them, are read on your phone and never sent anywhere.
  • The weather, if you turn it on, is fetched from Open-Meteo with a city or an approximate position.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.

Who we are

Data stored on your phone

The game saves on your phone, and only there: your progress through the thirty days, your choices, the fragments and clues you found, your time powder balance, your settings (language, sound, data choices), and, if you use the weather, the city you chose or your last approximate position.

We have no copy of this data. It is deleted when you uninstall the game. It is not restored on a new phone.

Steps and distance (optional)

If you allow it, the game reads your step count and distance from Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). It uses them on your phone to vary some details of the story. It never writes to your health data, and never sends it to us or to anyone else.

You can refuse, or withdraw your permission at any time: in the game, from the day screen or the Preferences; on iPhone, in the Health app, Sharing, Apps and Services, Unforecast; on Android, in your phone’s Health Connect settings. The game remains fully playable without this data.

Weather (optional)

If you turn on the weather, you either type the name of a city, or let the game use your approximate position. To find the city or the current weather, the game sends that name, or rounded coordinates, to Open-Meteo, a weather service. Like any website, Open-Meteo receives your phone’s IP address with the request; its handling of it is described in its own terms. We do not receive this data.

You can stop using the weather at any time from the game’s Preferences, and withdraw the location permission in your phone’s settings.

Purchases

Time powder is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies: we never receive your name, email address or payment details.

To check purchases and apply refunds, the game sends our server (api.unforecast.app, hosted by Cloudflare) a random identifier created on your phone, with no link to your name or account, and the store’s proof of purchase: transaction number, pack, date and store environment. When Apple or Google refunds a purchase, they notify our server, and the refunded time powder is removed from your balance. This data is kept for 60 days at most, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time from the game or by email.

This website

unforecast.app uses no analytics and no advertising cookies, and loads nothing from third-party sites. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site.

Legal basis

Steps, distance and location are used only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Purchase data is used to perform the sale you asked for. Technical data for the website is used for our legitimate interest in keeping it working and secure.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or withdraw your consent, by writing to support@unforecast.app. Since almost everything stays on your phone, uninstalling the game deletes it. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
